Item Description

Formento's, a West Loop Italian restaurant, is auctioning a special dining experience for up to 6 guests. Our Executive Chef Todd Stein will host and provide a custom, curated menu for our guests, showcasing Formento's signature cuisine style. Our guests will be served a full 4-course meal by Chef Stein, as well as be accompanied for a "meet and greet" with him during dinner, encouraging guests to discuss his history, cooking style, the served menu, and tips for cooking Italian at home. This custom menu will include delectable antipasti dishes, a house-made pasta recipe, 2 entree choices and dessert. This menu will also have a wine pairing, selected by our Sommelier, Alex Augustine, throughout the meal. This unique dining experience will take place in Formento's dining room.

About Chef Todd Stein: 

Stein attended Kendall College in Chicago to pursue culinary studies. He has traveled and cooked around the US, and spent time studying in France and Italy, which has led him back to Chicago to help cultivate Italian heritage and contemporary American cuisine at Formento’s, Nonna’s and The Bristol under B.
Hospitality Co. as Executive Chef and Partner. A number of accolades have been awarded to Stein across his career. In 2005, he was awarded three-
star reviews from Chicago magazine and Chicago Sun-Times, and a Rising Star Chef honor from StarChefs.com while at mk. In 2010, he cultivated three-star reviews from both the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times for cibo matto, Best New Chef 2010 from Chicago magazine and participated in Iron Chef America vs. Bobby Flay. Stein also garnered the Best New Restaurant Award for The Florentine from Chicago magazine in 2011.
