Six Bottles 2012 Premiere Napa Valley Auction Saintsbury-Brown Pinot Noir
Since 1996 WineBid has made it possible for wine enthusiasts and collectors to acquire fine and rare wines online. Today WineBid is the largest online wine auction with over 95,000 register bidders. The weekly auction starts every Sunday with a new selection of wine to Bid on or Buy Now. WineBid is based in Napa, California, where they’ve built a state-of-the-art warehouse. The staff of experienced wine professionals inspects, photographs and notes the provenance for every bottle of wine they auction. Everyone on WineBid has a “cellar”, where buyers and sellers can manage their collection online and have access to pricing data and automated reporting. If you're a wine collector, you'll find new offerings of fine and rare wines every week at WineBid. If you are interested in selling wine, WineBid offers an easy and efficient way to sell your wines in a global market.
Premiere Napa Valley is an annual barrel tasting and wine auction open only to the wine and beverage trade and sponsored by Napa Valley Vintners. The auction is an important event in the wine industry because members make special cuvées for the auction. “Premiere Napa Valley” wines, which are Cabernet Sauvignons or other red varietals, are not widely available to the public. Restaurateurs and retailers who purchase these cuvées market them as the “best of the best.” As part of their commitment to bringing rare and fine wines to their customers, WineBid.com participates in the Premiere Napa Valley auction and each year purchases a cuvée which they offer exclusively through their auctions.
Saintsbury is in the Carneros appellation in southern Napa Valley. Flagship wines are vineyard-designated Pinot Noirs from Brown Ranch. Wine writer James Laube has noted that “Saintsbury has been a model of intelligent wine making on several counts. The winery’s style emphasizes ripe fruit flavors and supple textures and the ratio of quality to price is high.”
The Premiere Napa Valley Auction Saintsbury-Brown Pinot Noir is, in a word, as per the winemaker, magnificent! Aged in French oak barrels, 40% new, for 11 months. Only 20 cases produced. The winemaker is Jerome Chery, a native of France who earned his oenology degree from the University of Burgundy. Each bottle is numbered and signed by the winemaker.
