Item Description
Acrylic
40" x 21" x 1"
Katie Blundell uses the fondness of 20th century memorabilia, color, and personal illustration to create a “the glass is half full” atmosphere in her work. She embraces the fact that learning to let go and not worry about the imperfections is why art is a fundamental experience.
“Don’t Eat the Yellow Paint” is a visual representation of how I experience anxiety through the style of Vincent van Gogh. He demonstrated to me that having anxiety is multidimensional. In the low moments, one will try to find vices to cope, such as consuming yellow paint. By having the title warning you against this consumption, it encourages to find other, healthier, avenues.
