Item Description
This yoga sculpture from The Art of Happiness's Rochman Reese depicts the warrior pose which is the most masculine and heroic of all yoga postures. To hold this posture for any length of time requires great skill and concentration. One of the most visually dynamic of yoga poses, this piece will inspire you with the focused energy of the warrior.
Each one of the "Yoga Bow Pose" series has been made from a special sculpturing medium called cast stone. It has a smooth natural feel and satisfying weight and texture. A gold-colored wash has been rubbed into each sculpture to enhance the variations in texture and detail. Due to their handmade nature, no two of these sculptures are exactly alike. The final finish may very slightly from what is shown in the picture.
All the sculptures are meant to be picked up and touched as well as looked at. Each sculpture has Rochman's signature inscribed on the bottom of the sculpture.
Rochman Reese was born in Australia and spent many years wandering to strange places around the world. His sculptures are influenced by many different cultures. All his sculptures are intended as a sensual experience. "A good sculptural work," he says, "calls out to be touched as well as looked at. In my work I try to create artworks which evoke an instant tactile response."
