Item Description

Monotype

25" X 19" x 1"

Andrea Warner, until 2012, considered herself a representational artist, working with watercolor & collage.  Since taking monotype classes at the AAM, she works primarily with monotype and monotype collage. She is a founding member of Collective Marks, a student and member of the AAM, a board member of the Monotype Guild of NE, and an artist member of the RI Watercolor Society.

Andrea loves the monotype process, its challenges, and the anticipation of watching paper go through the press to be unveiled as a print.  She works with a variety of papers, primarily BFK Rives but loves to experiment with new surfaces and new presses, such as her new palm press.  Lately, Andrea has been combining printmaking with collage.  That process involves making multiple prints with complimentary palettes and using cut up pieces of those prints as the medium for a collage.
