Christina Beecher is an active trustee at the AAM and credits the Museum as being integral to her development as a fine artist. Earning her BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art in Industrial Design she now paints full time and enjoys teaching to private students. Beecher participates in the local art scene holding numerous awards and is honored to be in collections around the country.
“Late August” is a small painting, a favorite size for this artist. Beecher loves to make vast landscapes fit into small canvases to stress the intimacy of the work. Inspired by the changing light of day, Late August started as a tonal work with added layers of glazed colors. Like all of her work, the landscape comes from her imagination, which gives her the freedom to paint from within.
