Item Description

Alcohol inks

16" x 19" x 1"

Mary Wojciechowski received her BFA degree from the University of Connecticut and taught visual arts for many years. She is a signature member of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, a juried artist in the Cape Cod Art Association and is a member of the Attleboro Arts Museum, the Monotype Guild of New England and Collective Marks. Currently, Mary is represented by Gallery 31, Orleans, MA.

“First Light” is one in a series of Mary Wojciechowski’s new works using alcohol inks. During her artistic career, Mary’s principal medium has been watercolor, primarily painting representationally. Recently, while using Yupo as an alternative surface for her watercolors, she discovered that alcohol inks flowed beautifully on this surface as well, opening new avenues for spontaneity and experimentation.
