“Babe Ruth, Boston Red Sox 1918”

Babe Ruth began his Major League career with the Boston Red Sox in 1914. He was an outstanding left-handed pitcher for the Sox during the 1914-1917 seasons. But in 1918 his display of great power at the plate transformed Ruth into an everyday player and later became one of the greatest hitters of all times. Campbell’s painting depicts Ruth in his 1918 Boston Red Sox uniform in 1918.
