Claudia Fieo is a Professor of Art at Wheaton College in Norton, MA. Her prints are in numerous private and public collections and have been exhibited regionally and nationally, most recently in 2017 at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking (CT); The Greg Hardwick Gallery, Columbia College (MO); Institute of Contemporary Art, Maine College of Art (ME); and A.P.E. Gallery (MA).
“Tidal Symmetry” is a photopolymer print created in 2008. Claudia Fieo made the initial drawing on Mylar with lithographic pencils, then exposed the drawing onto a photopolymer plate and inked it like an intaglio plate. It was printed and then collaged on Japanese Gampi paper. Her long-standing interest in nature and natural forms and phenomena was the inspiration for this image.
