“Book of Esther P12” is a painting that captures the biblical story’s existential challenges to a young beautiful girl forced to marry a king she barely knows in a society that compelled her to hide her ethnicity out of fear. When the time comes, she stands up for her nation and saves it from genocide. This painting alludes to master paintings about Esther and maps of ancient Persia to develop a palette, imagery and symbolism.
