Pamela Benham’s paintings in the last two years have been in three solo exhibits, in fourteen museum exhibits, including the Attleboro Arts Museum’s 8 Visions exhibit, and in sixteen gallery exhibits. She holds a BFA from Cooper Union and studied painting at the Art Students’ League, the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris, and the Skowhegan School, Maine. More work can be seen at pamelabenham.com.
Pamela Benham’s painting “An Introvert’s Domaine” was selected from a new body of work in which she is influenced by the techniques of Chinese ink sumi-e painting. In this technique, the movement of the hand is to not hesitate at the paper’s edge but continue as though there is no end, and the content is to embody the principle of capturing the subject's soul and to express the elusive unseen.
