Item Description
Acrylic & oil on canvas
19" x 19" x 1"
Sasja Lucas’s paintings, drawings and prints have been shown and collected internationally. She’s taught art and design at Mass College of Art, Newbury College, the Fuller Craft Museum, Brookline Arts Center, among others. Her artistic involvements include murals, exhibit and animation production. She was a founding member of JP Open Studios, Gallery 659, Cornwall Gallery, and the Menino Arts Center.
Lucas’s work is evidence of an act of discovery, which occurs through the process of creating. The process itself is the driving force, as opposed to a method that is informed by a predetermined result. Embracing innocence and mystery, she is not interested in arriving at a place she has been before, nor, traveling there on a familiar road. Intuition and accident preclude the intellectual as motivation.
