In 1937 the young artist returned from Europe.
His artwork captures the hope, despair, and enduring resilience of the American
worker. His artwork of the 1930's demonstrates how he witnessed the social change
occurring in America. Throughout his fifty years in Poughkeepsie he painted landscapes of the Hudson River, America's beautiful waterways. The dunes of Cape Cod. He 1970 he retired from teaching studio art at Vassar College.
