Item Description
Limited edition Color Lithograph
34" x 36" x 1"
Alexander Calder changed the course of modern art by developing a method of sculpting, bending, and twisting wire to create three-dimensional “drawings in space.” As Calder’s sculpture moved into the realm of pure abstraction, so did his prints. The artist often created prints for advocacy, as in poster prints protesting the Vietnam War and other pressing social issues.
Limited Edition Color Lithograph on Paper Rare, and highly collectible poster designed by Alexander Calder to help raise funds for the SANE Nuclear Policy National Committee, Washington D.C., 1975. It features a quote by John F. Kennedy, and was published by Mourlot, France. Quote reads: "Mankind must put an end to war or war will put an end to mankind."
