Item Description
This gorgeous cat brooch is sure to be the envy of all your cat-loving friends. Made with an incredibly unique process (see below), you can be sure your new brooch is something special!
Lea Stein is a French artist and accessories maker. She entered the fashion industry in 1957 working in textiles and then developed an interest in plastic. She worked with her husband to develop a process of layering very thin sheets of cellulose acetate and laminating them to form a "muti-colored sandwich of plastic". Each 'sandwich' is baked for a long time, then cooled and cut into shapes. The process can take as long as six months. The brooch has a distinctive v-shaped metal clasp inscribed with "Lea Stein Paris".
Item Special Note
If won by an online bidder, item will be shipped by trackable method (cost charged to winner), or can be picked up in Salisbury, MA after the event.
