For centuries it's been true, clothes MAKE the man, woman, or child. We know so much about folks from the past based on the clothing they leave behind.
Lynne Bassett, Independent Scholar and Adjunct Curator of Costumes and Textiles at the Wadsworth Atheneum, will offer a 1-hour lecture at your institution between June and December of 2018. Choose from this list of amazing topics:
- “Herstory in Civil War Quilts.”
- “Petticoats to Pants: Women’s Fashion, 1865-1940,”
- "Reigning Fashion: Victoria (the PBS series) and the Queen, 1837-1901,”
- “Needlework in New England, 1700-1850).
Lecture should be in CT and/or less than a 2-hour drive from Palmer, MA (southern Massachusetts).
