Item Description

Artist Michele Zarb uses her work to tell stories… stories of history, aboriginal culture, hardship, love, but most importantly, the human soul. “Buffalo Runner” depicts a family’s most significant member, the horse. Among the Plains tribes, the buffalo runner horse had to be agile, smart, and fearless as it carried a hunter into the heart of buffalo herds to provide the tribe with food and other materials necessary for survival.

Artist Michele Zarb’s love of art began at a young age and has continued into adulthood. Her work has been accepted into international competitions across North America. Being awarded numerous accolades, Michele’s work can be found in private and corporate collections across the globe (even in the home of Lenny Kravitz!) And after a successful art career for over twenty years, Michele herself can be found, most days, at Kitsap Humane Society. Michele coordinates our Customer Service and Licensing Departments with a calm presence and smiling face.
