Item Description
This original engraving came from Century Magazine in 1907. It shows the last remaining fortified gate into Chartres, the Porte Guillaume. During World War II, as the Germans withdrew from Chartres in the face of American bombing, they blew up this gate. Now only a few remnants remain. So this is rather historic. I bought this on eBay years ago. The sellers information is enclosed.
