Item Description

"Yellow, Black and Red Enso" by Wabi Sabi Kate is a richy textural original work relying on acrylic paints and mark-making on paper.

Kate describes her style as "rustic, wabi sabi, organic, and urban decay...overlay(ing) textures on my paintings for interest." The piece is simple yet rich with texture and detail.

An upper yellow color block, a lower off-white block containing a black textured band, is accented with a red enso, the focal point of this painting. The enso is a symbol of Zen and Eastern religions which practice being in the flow, or in the moment. The painting includes Kate's trademark rust circle which she uses as her personal "chop" or stamp.

BoulderShop's Wabi Sabi Kate says, "I believe that art should be cheerful, portray the mysterious, and use minimalism to rest the mind." She finds inspiration in modern abstract art and Eastern influences.
