Enjoy the fresh and vibrant aromas of ripe red fruit in each sip of the Solaia 2013.  This prize includes a case of six bottles of this beautiful blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Sangiovese, 5% Cabernet Franc.

About the Solaia 2013

A very intense ruby red with purple highlights, the 2013 Solaia shows aromas of ripe red fruit, pleasurably fresh and vibrant, accompanied by balsamic sensation of liquorice and mint. Hints of vanilla and smoke on the aromatic close fuse with an intense spiciness to create a powerful impact. The palate, initially elegant, becomes full bodied with tannins of much shape and solidity. The finish and aftertaste are quite complex with their expressive notes of black fruit and chocolate along with an excellent savor and vigor.

The excellent weather of 2013 brought out all the quality of the Cabernet Franc grapes harvested that September; the Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon crops were brought to the cellar in early October as well under climatic conditions which were absolutely perfect for the quality of the fruit.  Once harvested, only the most perfect grapes were pressed, fermented, aged, and blended through a two-year process designed to bring out the grapes' aroma, color, freshness, and suppleness for the final product.

The renowned Solaia Vineyard occupies 50-acres with a southwestern exposure situated 1,325 feet above sea level at the Tignanello estate, which is located in the Greve and Pesa Valleys in the heart of the Chianti Classico area of Tuscany, Italy. The soil consists of calcareous clays and limestone rock. The Marchesi Anttinori firm produced this wine for the first time in 1978 with an initial blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc. In the following years, 20% of Sangiovese was added and some corrections in the rapport between the two different Cabernets were also made, creating the current blend. The wine is only produced in high quality vintages.

RESTRICTIONS: This prize does not include shipping costs. Items will be shipped at the winner’s expense, or pick-up may be arranged from the Drama League offices in TriBeCa, New York City.

This prize cannot legally be shipped to the following states: Alabama, Oklahoma, Utah, Delaware, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina or Rhode Island.
