Spend a week in this lovely, secluded, country cottage in Ireland. Located between Ballinrobe and Castlebar in the west of Ireland, this treasure is perfect for one or two adults who have always wanted to truly experience the Emerald Isle. 

This listing is for a one bedroom, one bath apartment in Ireland. The visit is for one week (seven days) and must be between March-September 2018. The winning bidder will be put in touch with the owner after the end of the auction. Dates are subject to availability. 

Air fare is not included. Please note that the apartment is located in the country and the winning bidder and guest will need to rent a car once they arrive in Ireland.

Mayoabbey is the nearest small village, it has a church, pub, general store and a post-office. Balla hosts traditional Irish music nights on Tuesdays at Mannion's Pub. Claremorris has many shops, pubs, bars, restaurants, cafes, several supermarkets, a couple of pharmacies and 3 banks with ATM's.

Castlebar (10 miles) is the county town of Co. Mayo, and Westport (17 miles) with a large variety of shops, restaurants, pubs, takeaways, threatre, entertainment bars and pubs. There are several large supermarkets, many pharmacies, Mayo County Hospital with an A and E and a cinema. Westport is often described as Ireland's most lively town. 

~ Lough Carra (4.9 miles) is home to the hauntingly beautiful Moore Hall and is the largest marl lake in Ireland. 

~ Ballintubber Abbey, founded in 1216, is 5.5 miles away and holds a daily Mass. 

~ Great Western Greenway traverses Ireland's Atlantic Coast between Westport and Achill Island, passing through the towns of Newport and Mulranny, and by some of Ireland's most dramatic mountains and scenary. 

~ Croagh Patrick is 21.7 miles away and is Ireland's holiest mountain. It is the site of pilgrimage for thousands of years, and since 441AD is follows the trail of Saint Patrick. Each year, the mountain witnesses nearly a million pilgrims walking along the traditional route from Murrisk Abbey.

~ Ballinrobe Race Course is 11.4 miles away and is a beautiful race course which hosts many events throughout May to September.
