Item Description
This "Praying Baby Jizo" is an original handmade woodblock print from JapanesePrintsPlus' Mike Fiorella. Mike created the design, hand-carved the woodblock and hand printed the artwork on Japanese washi rice paper.
In Japanese Buddhism, Jizo, also known as Kshitigarbha, is believed to be a god of compassion and the protector of woman, unborn children and travelers. Jizo statues are commonly seen along Japanese roads and in graveyards. They are beloved in their native Japan.
