The Tappan Zee Bridge is the largest infrastructure project under way in the U.S. The Historical Society of Rockland County is pleased to offer you an exclusive opportunity to observe this important undertaking from a unique vantage point. Join the HSRC on the River Rose, a Mississippi-style paddle-wheeler, as it cruises along the Rockland shore of the Hudson River to the Tappan Zee Bridge.
You and a guest (adult or child age 8+) will be able to view the current bridge construction from vantage points that are as near to the bridge as legally and safely possible. Narration and commentary will be provided by historians from the HSRC, as well as by leaders of the current bridge project. These guides will also be available to answer questions you have about the past, present, and future of the Tappan Zee Bridge.
Lunch aboard the River Rose is included in the package! On the return trip, you will enjoy a cruise along the Westchester shoreline. Please note that the boat will leave from the Haverstraw Marina, 600 Beach Rd,, West Haverstraw, N.Y., rain or shine.
Item Special Note
This year these day trips took place in June, July, and August. The precise date and times for 2018 are to yet be determined, but the trip will take place midweek on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, lasting from approximately 9:30 a.m. to mid-afternoon.
Winning bidder will contract donor to schedule trip. Subject to availability. Must be used by August 31, 2018.
