The Detroit Public Library is the second largest library system in Michigan and the 21st largest library system in the U.S. (by volumes held). The Main Library on Woodward Avenue stands as part of Detroit's Cultural Center and was listed by Historical Detroit in the National Register of Historical Places. Main Library is not only one of the most beautiful buildings in Detroit but also an important landmark and significant monument.
