Artist's Statement:
At a point of my life when I was threatened with blindness, I began to look at my surroundings, as if for the first time. Having regarded myself as observant, I was stunned by how much I'd missed.
Nature's splendor and the intricate daily rhythms of life now revealed themselves as large expanses of color and pattern, the infinitely small tapestries at a flower's center and the personalities of earth's creatures appeared.
The gift of sight did not leave me; nor did the gift of second sight and new insight. How now to capture that gift and preserve it? Sharp photographs gave way to softer more impressionistic imagery encouraging the viewer to discover what lies amongst the pixels.
