Item Description
Experiences can be Limitless in Rochester, New York! Located 1.5 hours from Niagara Falls, your student group can get a taste of what Rochester has to offer with this package for up to 50 people. Experience the city’s top three attractions: Genesee Country Village & Museum, George Eastman Museum (GEM), and The Strong National Museum of Play.
Spend a morning strolling through the Northeast’s largest living history museum, the Genesee Country Village & Museum. History will come alive as you step back in time in our 19th-century village, featuring 68 historic buildings, including houses, farms with animals, and a blacksmith, pottery shop, tinsmith, and print shop. Many buildings are home to costumed interpreters who share stories of the families who lived and worked in them and demonstrate hands-on activities. The museum also features a nature center with hiking trails and an art gallery. Before departing, your group will enjoy a box lunch and a treat from the Confectionery!
Next, the George Eastman Museum, Rochester's premier cultural attraction, where the group will enjoy a guided tour of the mansion or the galleries. GEM holds one of the world's foremost collections of photography and cinema, and is situated at the historic estate of George Eastman, the pioneer of popular photography and motion picture film. The museum's robust exhibition schedule features contemporary and historic photography. The National Historic Landmark mansion and gardens tell the story of how a visionary entrepreneur and philanthropist lived during the early 20th century.
After you depart the George Eastman Museum, make a stop at The Strong—the ultimate play destination for all ages! Explore upstate New York’s largest year-round cultural attraction and experience two floors—more than a city block long—of hands-on, dynamic, interactive exhibit spaces. Discover the world's largest collection of toys, dolls, and games. Play your way through video game and pinball history; leap into the world of American comic book superheroes; and walk among hundreds of free-flying butterflies in the indoor, tropical butterfly garden. Meet history’s playful side in The Strong’s three halls of fame. Go hands-on with the toys beloved by generations in the National Toy Hall of Fame; learn about toy industry luminaries such as Milton Bradley, Walt Disney, Jim Henson, and George Lucas of the Toy Industry Hall of Fame; and see how electronic games are changing the way people play, learn, and connect with each other in the World Video Game Hall of Fame.
There is so much more to do and see in Rochester, New York—your experience can truly be limitless!
