Item Description
Enjoy three days and two nights of personal retreat, meditation and escape from the routine. Our Shrine Cabin at Pema Osel Ling sleeps two and has easy access to our Shrine Room, which is available for quiet meditation. Meals can be prepared by retreatants in an adjacent facility. Bath house is separate but nearby.
Wisdom teachers through the ages have recommended that we go to the mountains whenever possible to do reteat and Pema Osel Ling has been blessed by the presence of so many sublime lamas. There is a special energy here that supports practice.
Lama Tharchin Rinpoche said “Pema Osel Ling is one of the best places to do practice. We have incredible holy supporting objects like the body aspect of Guru Rinpoche’s statue, made by our Lord of Refuge Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche, and the mind aspect or our stupas.”
And, as Lama Sonam Rinpoche told us, “Now is the time to practice. Don’t think you will have more time later. As the great masters told us, we should practice with the same urgency we would feel if our hair were on fire – we wouldn’t wait until a better time to put it out! Remember impermanence.”
The Vajrayana Foundation is a Tibetan Buddhist retreat and teaching center founded by Lama Tharchin Rinpoche. It is a Nyingma center in the Dudjom Tersar tradition. Also a non-profit organization it was created by Lama Tharchin Rinpoche to establish the Buddha Dharma in the West. The main retreat center for the Vajrayana Foundation is Pema Osel Ling (Lotus Land of Clear Light), located in Santa Cruz, California.
