Following South Africa’s general election on April 27, 1994, Nelson Mandela was inaugurated as South Africa’s first black president on May 10, 1994.
A symbol of global peacemaking, Nelson Mandela won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993.

Note: The poster has nail holes in it. SRI-South Africa took the posters off telephone poles after the election and shipped them to SRI Headquarters. We gave most of the posters to museums, but we still have a few here. If the winning bidder is able to come to SRI Headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey, he or she can select the one they want. Some of the posters are still nailed to masonite.
