Item Description
This year’s Gala Project is the precursor to a mural which will be completed this spring under the Wilson Snake River Bridge. It is a quadriptych that depicts a western landscape as it changes weather, flora and fauna through the seasons.
The image was designed, planned and outlined by our high school students according to their learnings in math, science and visual arts. Pre-K and K-1 students provided the foundation (wash) on all four canvases. After grades 9 and 10 outlined each panel grades 2-5 painted the big planes of the foreground. Middle school students then added the back-and mid-ground and our high school students came back to add the flora and fauna. Several visual arts diploma program students evaluated, revised and resolved the piece into completion.
