Item Description
10 bottles of 2013 Sangiovese – Marche – Umani Ronchi
Umani Ronchi was founded in 1957 by Gino Umani Ronchi, and was later acquired by Massimo Bernetti. The highly respected Beppe Caviola is their consulting enologist. They have over 400 acres of vineyards in the La Marche area, along the Eastern Coast of Italy and extensive holdings in nearby Abruzzo. They produce great wines, and are known as the Ambassador of La Marche. Sangiovese is one of Italy’s most prominent grapes and is particularly famous as the main component for Chianti. It derives its name from the Latin phrase “the blood of Jove”. Here we have 100% estate Sangiovese that goes through 7 months of malolactic fermentation in oak casks. Bright ruby red, with hints of purple. Lovely full, ripe fruit. Polished tannins. Aromas and flavors of strawberry, spice, blackberries and plums. Long finish and aftertaste. Delicious drinking.
