Item Description
The Jays children celebrated the alphabet with a painting of the 26 letters in the style of Jasper Johns. To paint the grid background, the children each selected a color from a bag containing squares of color paper, mixed together primary-color acrylic paints to make paint that would match their selected color sample, and then used paintbrushes to paint their individual rectangle. After the background grid was completed and dried, the children then stenciled in the letters, painting with acrylic colors that they had created by mixing primary colors. The children were precocious artists and immaculate in technique! There was not a single spill, and the classroom remained spotless despite the use of permanent acrylic paint! After the painting was completed, the children commemorated their magnificent accomplishment with a signing party, each signing their own name with flourish on the back of the canvas. Hooray, Jasper Jays!
Canvas size: 24" x 36"
