Item Description

Certificate for one family of four (new campers only) to four (4) free nights of stay at the Oakland Feather River Camp in Plumas National Forest!  This certificate is valid during the "Science, Space & Sky Week", Sunday June 24th - Sunday July 1st 2018.

The Oakland Feather River Camp is a favorite destination for Oakland families since 1924! The summer sky in the Sierras is full of wonder! Days are spent enjoying camp activities or just relaxing, while in the evening, campers are invited to share incredible views of the night sky with our Astronomer-In-Residence and guide to the galaxies, Vivian White, from Oakland’s Chabot Science Center.

Vivian will share her state-of-the-art telescopes for some awesome stargazing, and will also lead fun stuff like rocket making or planet walks during the days. Her activities are for all ages, so if you ever wanted to learn the constellations, or simply deepen your appreciation of a star-studded sky, this is the week for you!

Lodging: Cabins and tent-cabins are nestled among the trees or overlooking Spanish Creek. Each sleeps up to four adults in cots or beds with a table, bench and shelves for your convenience. Stay in lower camp with electricity or upper camp, where the only lighting beside the moon is path markers to help you find your way at night.

Rest Rooms/Bathing: Each area in camp has communal restroom and bathing facilities for men and for women. There are showers with private changing stalls and outlets at the sinks for your convenience.

Meals: Enjoy three healthy, delicious meals served buffet style. Vegetarian entrees and a salad bar are available daily. Early risers may want to have a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Meal times are: Breakfast is at 8:30am, Lunch is at 12:30pm and Dinner is at 6:00pm.  There is a separate mini-kitchen for campers to use, including those campers with special dietary needs.

Common Space: In addition to the dining hall and patio, the veranda is a place where campers can gather for dancing or games. We also have courts for basketball, tennis and volleyball and a softball field. There are evening activities planned each night. They include: Campfires, Disco Bingo, Movie Night, a Talent Show and Games Night.

down stream.
