The Francis College of Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell is excited to host this overnight, week-long summer camp for high school students in July 2018. Discover the AMAZING world of Engineering through hands-on projects and interactions with students, faculty, staff and alumni!
JULY 15-20, 2018: ENGINEERING FOR SUSTAINABILITY (GIRLS ONLY)
Engineers utilize their training to make the world a better place. Students will learn about innovation, sustainability, product design and performance analysis. This program is designated for female students interested in pursuing Engineering. Potential camp projects include:
- Design and build an inexpensive water purification system.
- Develop and build a wind turbine to generate electricity.
- Design and build a model solar home.
- Develop environmentally friendly materials for cleaning.

Item Special Note
Only female students are eligible.
Students entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the Fall of 2018 are eligible to apply.
Tuition costs include all materials, room, and meals for the week (Sunday afternoon through Friday afternoon). Limited space is available for each camp. Registration is first come-first serve and deadline to register is June 1.
Limited space is available for each camp. Auction winner needs to register in a timely manner to insure availability. There is no registration fee for the winner.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A FUNDRAISING EVENT AND THERE ARE NO REFUNDS.
All winning bidders will be charged a transaction fee of 5% of their final bid, not to exceed $50 per item, to cover a portion of the auction transaction fees. We thank you for bidding and supporting the Merriam School.
