What is a BREWSTER?
Historically, “Brewster” was the name for a female brewer. It has traditionally been a female dominated craft until late last century. That means that we have 4000 years on the boys! As a tribute to women brewers past, we decided to make it an acronym: Building Relationships and Empowering Women Striving To Exist Responsibly.
10-20 women are invited to a private BREWTSER event at Tradesman Brewing Co.’s new location on upper King Street. Enjoy a 5-6 hour day of learning how to make a great beer--by actually helping! We will also discuss the role women have played historically in the production of beer. You will be involved in choosing the style of beer to be brewed as well as specialty malts and hops to be used. This will all be done with guidance from Sara McConnell, Tradesman co-owner and co-founder of the BREWSTER Program. Before the day is done we will have chosen a name for the beer we brewed, as well as a women-focused local charity to donate a portion of the beer’s proceeds to. Breakfast, lunch and beer included!
As the ideal lunch pairing for this event, owners Patty Floersheimer and Trudi Wagner of goat.sheep.cow. will select items from their menu that work especially well with beer.

Please note that as this is an interactive, hands-on experience, proper attire, including close-toed shoes, is required for safety reasons.
