As a child, I was afraid of the dark, ghosts and different noises that I would hear in my restless nights. I would wake up my parents on a regular basis and either end up in bed with them, or my father would sleep on the floor in my room. My vivid imagination was a curse to me at night....... Until that very same imagination rescued me. I went to a neighbor's garage sale one summer, when I was around 10, where I discovered something that changed my life.

They had a penny box, full of useless odds and ends that you could buy for 1¢. From underneath some old yarn, clothespins and some string, I saw a furry gray reaching out to me .My curiosity got the better of me and I dug out the creature the arm was attached to It was an old, beat up stuffed animal, that still slightly resembled the monkey it had once been. It had a missing eye, it's once happy smile now twisted into what looked like a menacing snarl and it had random tufts of stuffing sticking out of some bald spots where fur had once been. What I had found was a once very much loved stuffed monkey, but now was a monster. I knew if somebody had loved him that much, that there was NO WAY that he was a bad monster .....no, no... What I had discovered was the very first Monster Guard, and I knew it. I paid the penny and took my new friend home with me, believing that it possessed some type of magic that would guard me at night.

And it worked. I named him Mokee and called him my Monster Guard, because the best way to fight ghosts and monsters was with another monster. I had NO problems sleeping at night anymore, thanks to my Monster Guard.

After the online auction closes, this item will be going to a LIVE EVENT for further bidding.  The LIVE EVENT is Thursday, April 19.  You will be notified by email if you are awarded the winning bid.  If shipment of your item is required, shipping and handling charges will apply and be billed to your account.  Local pick-up can be arranged, in lieu of shipping, between April 21th and April 30^th.  If interested in local pickup, three locations will be available:  Camp Hebron, Halifax; a location in Harrisburg; and a location in Lancaster.

We will have provisions for absentee bidding.  Anyone bidding on line for an item who has entered a maximum bid that is higher than the ending on-line bid, will be placed on an absentee bidding report and a volunteer will bid on the item for you up to your maximum stated amount.
