Item Special Note
Michele grew up in New Hampshire and fell in love with clay during a high school art class. Fast forward 23 years, and after raising a daughter, she enrolled in the NH Institute of Art and took my love of clay to the next level. It was during this time that she met Jeff Brown, a pottery instructor at the Institute. Eventually, we shared a studio in Northwood, NH. In 2010 they made the decision to return to Jeff’s home state of North Carolina, establishing their new home and studio in the pottery community of Seagrove.
"Most of work is functional, wheel thrown forms. I enjoy carving flowers and leaves through slip covered clay, a process called sgraffito. I fire in a gas kiln, here at our Seagrove studio and participate in wood firings whenever the opportunity arises." ~Michele
