A one week intensive camp with two performances.
This camp serves as an introduction to Shakespeare for the younger student. We examine a condensed version of a play where the line load is lighter than full text, but still challenges each student. At the end of the camp, a 45 minute version of the play will be presented with no intermission on Friday and Saturday.

PLAY: Two Gentlemen of Verona (read synopsis)
Each summer New Genesis Production (NGP) conducts one and two-week theatre intensives open to youth ages 7-17. Our actors train in the disciplines of acting, voice, movement and stage combat. They develop a deep knowledge of and emotional connection to Shakespeare through the Intensive process.
The rehearsal process provides time for learning and understanding Shakespeare’s language, and for building the group dynamics essential to personal and group success. Students gain an understanding of Shakespeare’s world of theatre, as well as specific acting skills. Song, dance, and stage combat training will be applied as a daily activity. The Summer Shakespeare Intensives culminate in fully staged productions at the LITTLE GLOBE OUTDOOR STAGE in West Shokan, NY.
