All Jones Family Vineyards Cabernet is made from estate grown grapes planted on their picturesque property located in the sun-drenched eastern hills of Calistoga.
Wine critic Robert Parker describes the Jones Family Vineyards Cabernet as follows: …“Sumptuous aromas of sweet blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit, licorice and toasty background oak … with full-bodied power, stunning purity, concentration, and texture …” This wine is indeed a sumptuous expression of its singularly magnificent terroir and 20 years of superior winemaking, by Heidi Peterson Barrett (1996-2006) and Thomas Rivers Brown (2007-present).
Heidi Peterson Barrett has made many of the Napa Valley’s most sought-after and cult classic wines. Known as the "First Lady of Wine", she was responsible for the creation of Screaming Eagle and Dalla Valle Maya, in the late 80s and early 90s. While she is best known for her perfectly balanced, elegant, and ageworthy Cabs, she has a huge following for her winemaking skill and artistry across many different varietals. Jones Family Vineyards is proud that Heidi made their first vintage, 1996, and continued through 2006.
Thomas Rivers Brown is one of the most exciting winemaking talents in Napa Valley. Beginning at Turley Estate in the late 1990s, and continuing today at Pulido-Walker, Outpost, Casa Piena, Seaver, Maybach Cellars and others, he crafts beautiful wines that speak of the land and conditions that created them. 2007 was Thomas's first vintage with Jones Family Vineyards, and each year he surpasses the quality of his prior vintages by working closely with the vineyard team and using small lot fermentation and blending.
Here, you have an opportunity to taste for yourself—a 6-year vertical of Jones Family Vineyards Estate Cabernet, crafted by two of the Valley’s most pre-eminent and heralded winemakers, Heidi Peterson Barrett and Thomas Rivers Brown.
Don’t wait too long to bid—this auction lot is a buy-out, every year!
