Item Description
Award-winning middle grade inspiring biography---At age eight, Lotta Crabtree entertained miners to support her family. She sang, danced, and dared to joke and strum the banjo when both were considered unladylike. She soared on to national stardom as America's first comedienne. Filled with historical entertainment images, and a great resource! Autographed and inscribed, if desired. For ages 8-12.
Author Lois V. Harris is an award-winning storyteller. She graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in English and Creative Writing. Harris is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and a writing instructor at Skagit Valley College. She has dedicated her writing career to bringing forth stories about creative people that inspire children to follow their dreams. She first encountered Lotta’s story after seeing the fountain the star had donated to San Francisco. http://www.loisharris.net
