“Most of these kids (foster/orphans) are used to being the community project instead of working on a community project. At Urban Surf 4 Kids, our goal for every orphan and foster child is to remove the ‘underprivileged’ label and replace it with the ‘empowered’ label. With the right resources and volunteers, we can do it!”

What you will see and do

As we leave the harbor, keep your eyes peeled for our local pinnipeds, the California sea lion! These cuties will be busy basking themselves on our docks, swimming around and under our boat. As we head for deeper waters, we are frequently escorted by pods of common dolphins, spinning and doing aerobatic tricks through the air for your viewing pleasure.

During the winter months, we witness the Gray whale migration, as they travel down our coastline, to mate and give birth off the Baja coast. If you happen to be visiting during the summer, look for the world’s largest animal, the blue whale, as they swim by. Don’t forget to look up, either! Our avian wildlife loves to “help” our whales with their food – diving in and grabbing whatever morsels they can find! Look out for the red and brown boobies as well as the Bonaparte’s gulls!

Remember, your tour isn’t over until we dock, so as we head back in, look around. Maybe we will have the chance to see the playful bottlenose dolphins, bow surfing and jumping around!
