Item Description

How does your garden grow?!

Receive a flat of 15 local eco-type native plants that are bird and butterfly-friendly--and a chance to participate in a new Mann project!

Includes Bee Balm, Black-Eyed Susan, Wild Bergamot, New England Aster, and Versicolor Blue Iris. The winning bidder also has the option of having these planted by Horace Mann friend and neighbor Peter Forbes of Spring/Trees for the Planet.

Horace Mann is also involved in a horticultural first:

Local eco-type native plants are combined in a complete carbon-friendly, no-waste format. Rather than plastic, Cow Pots made of recycled cow manure and straw are being used (http://cowpots.com/).

There are significant benefits to the environment and the plants themselves from using Cow Pots (http://cowpots.com/benefits-of-using-cowpots/).

Item Special Note

Photo image is of actual plants as of February 20; plants will have an additional month of growth by the pick-up date and planting.

Local Northwest Washington, D.C. pick-up only.
