Item Description
Priceless Work of Art: This 10” x 7” first-cast bronze sculpture of “Don’t Drop Her” is part of the collection of children at play series created by local artist, Marilyn (Whitehead) Carollo. The series, which captures animated children in forms of nostalgic and playful innocence, comprised Mrs. Carollo’s first venture into bronze sculpturing. She later created religious pieces as well as commissioned works. Her final sculpture was a rendition of Abraham Lincoln … praying. Over the years, Mrs. Carollo’s works were displayed in galleries in Monterey, CA and Gettysburg, PA. A permanent bronze relief of The Last Supper resides in a church in Delray Beach, FL. This bronze sculpture was donated specifically to this year’s Gala by her daughter Carol Shoemaker, a C.A.S.E. Board Member. Mrs. Carollo, an adoptee, passed away in 2017.
