Item Description
Paris, Brussels and Vienna are famous for their exuberant, elegant Art Nouveau buildings, while New York is certainly not. But hidden in plain sight all over NYC are beautiful buildings built in this fascinating style that, while short-lived, marked a turning point in architecture: away from a re-purposing of historical styles, and toward a sculptural plasticity and a refined integration of function and design.
Join Studio School parent Bryan Kohl and three friends for and AWESOME NYC Experience!
Item Special Note
Amateur architectural historian Bryan Kohl will guide this walking tour for four, highlights of which will include Upper West Side apartment buildings by the Paris-trained brothers George and Edward Blum (such as 780 West End Avenue, pictured here), and Emery Roth's Hotel Belleclaire. Depending on the winning bid, the tour may be expanded into a driving tour to include buildings farther uptown (Harlem and Washington Heights), and/or midtown (Theater District) and downtown (Flatiron, Financial District).
Studio School Families and Friends only.
