Item Description
2007 Bressler Cabernet Sauvignon.
The wines featured in the Abrams Cellar collection were specially curated by Michela Abrams in loving memory of her husband Alan J. Abrams who served as the Chairman of SI's auction Wine Committee for several years. The proceeds from tonight's wine auction will benefit a scholarship fund in Alan's name to honor his many years of service to the SI Community.
Item Special Note
Bressler is a tiny family-owned producer of premium estate grown wines. Fruit for the Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from their vineyard on west side of St. Helena. Only 410 cases were produced of the 2007, which contains a small amount of Cabernet Franc. This is a rare From winemaker Mia Klein: "The nose has spices of clove and cedar as well as the sweetness of vanilla bean, blackberry jam, tangerine and cherry liquor. The wine fills your mouth with flavors. The tannins are extremely well balanced, smooth and seamless. The flavors are very clean with a nice taste of chocolate covered cherries and a hint of fresh tobacco from the Cab Franc. The silky finish seems to go on forever." Even on release, the wine will show very well with a 30 minute decant. It is very food friendly, complimenting the flavors rather than competing with them. It will pair extremely well with veal, lamb and beef. The total production was only 410 cases.
