This is truly a ine of a kind basket - Seven boxes of Girl Scout cookies perfectly paired with the proper beverage.  These wines come from the private collections of the parents of WISH 1st graders, and while they have an MSRP value, several of them are priceless and cannot be purchased anymore.  This is a one-of-a-kind gift basket that will delight any wine enthusiast and also support the wonderful Girl Scout organization.

The curated wines are paired with the right cookie through intensive research. Enjoy the following:

Samoas paired with Newton Claret 2014: This claret wine has rich, ripe fruit dominate the nose with aromas of currant, boysenberry, blackberry and black cherry all intermingling. There are notes of vanilla, sweet spice and oak which go hand-in-hand with the Samoas, a crisp cookie coated in caramel, sprinkled with toasted coconut and striped with dark chocolate coating.

S’mores paired with Frank Family Zinfandel Port (375ml): This Zinfandel Port boasts aromas of graham cracker, roasted nuts, mocha, and molten chocolate. The mouth continues the super-dense, super-rich experience with all elements of the chocolate spectrum, and a nutty, salty end, reminiscent more of Madeira than port. This makes it a perfect partner for the crunchy graham sandwich cookie of the S’mores, with a creamy chocolate and marshmallow filling

Do-Si-Dos paired with Alfaro Family Vineyards & Winery Pinot Noir 2015 (2x 375ml): This Pinot Noir is medium bodied and deep ruby in color it shows a burst of fruit on the nose, and is chock-full of bright cherry, raspberry and spice flavors on the palate. Complex and well-balanced it washes down the Do-Si-Dos, crunchy oatmeal sandwich cookies with creamy peanut butter filling, perfectly

Trefoils paired with Ridge Pagani Ranch Zinfandel 2012: This Zinfandel Expressive cherry-vanilla and dark berry preserve aromas are complicated by dark chocolate and dried flowers. These spicy dark berry and plum preserve flavors coat the palate, and match up fabulously with the traditional shortbread Trefoils

Savannah Smiles paired with Salt Vine Rose of Pinot Noir 2016: This is a premium Pinot Noir Rosé that has a sensual mouth feel and flavors of wild raspberry, peach, and blood orange. It has refreshing acidity and a long finish, which is why it goes perfectly with light crisp, zesty lemon wedge cookies that are dusted in powdered sugar

Tagalongs paired with Graham’s 20-Year Tawny Port:  This Tawny Port has an excellent bouquet, with a characteristic "nutty" character, and delicious mature fruit with hints of orange peel. Rich, sweet and smooth on the palate, it is perfectly balanced, to go with Tagalongs, those crispy cookies layered with peanut butter and covered in chocolate.

Thin Mints paired with a Starbucks Gift Card:  The most classic of all Girl Scout cookies, the Thin Mint, are decidedly the most difficult to pair with wine.  Some food and drink critics recommend using stout beer with Thin Mints, but the overwhelming opinion from wine aficionado is that coffee or milk is best suited.  Therefore, the most appropriate drink for your Thin Mints is to secure your favorite coffee beverage from Starbucks and enjoy.
