Item Description
What is it? Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a virtually painless, non-surgical procedure that reduces the signs of aging. It can reduce wrinkles, fine lines, puffiness, facial sagging, and discoloration. The results are a more vibrant, tighter, lifted, and smoother face. It is a safe and natural approach to anti-aging without the side-effects of invasive procedures. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture combines the ancient wisdom of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to address both the outward symptoms of aging as well as its internal causes. Based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, facial rejuvenation acupuncture began in the Song Dynasty (960-1279 AD). The secrets of longevity and beauty were highly sought after by the members of the imperial royal court and the wealthy elite of ancient China. How does it work? Blood circulation to the deepest layers of the skin is increased with the insertion of needles into key ares of the face. This increase in blood flow brings more nutrients to the face, stimulates collagen and elastin production, carries away waste matter, improves lymphatic drainage, and restores your skins’ moisture and color. Facial muscle tone is invigorated and wrinkles begin to fill in. What other benefits I can expect? Your face is the ultimate reflection of your internal health and emotional well being. Since the face is a microcosm of the body– meaning there is a map of the body on your face, many health problems are naturally treated by needling the face. Below is a list of ailments that are effectively addressed with Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture: Insomnia -Migraines Depression -Stress and tension Weight loss -Hot flashes Digestive disturbances -Anxiety What is a treatment like and how many do I need? Your initial treatment involves a complete Chinese medical consultation, including a tongue and pulse diagnosis. You will be asked about your face and your particular concerns. An acupressure facial massage will begin the treatment to relax the face and promote blood flow. Approximately 20-30 ultra fine, sterile, single use needles will be inserted into the face as well as a few on other body areas. The needles will retain for approximately 30 minutes. A course of ten treatments, twice per week, are recommended to receive optimal results followed by monthly maintenance treatments. You will also receive dietary and lifestyle advice and prescribed the appropriate Chinese herbal formula to address your particular internal organ imbalances.
