VEIL
This is series of self-portraits began as an investigation of personal identity, geographic displacement, and cultural memory, using the shroud or covering as a symbol of concealment. As the series evolved away from portraiture, it maintained a singular focus on the act of concealing as a practice and a process of self-examination. Compositions are constructed from photographs of veils and fabrics that are manipulated and layered in Photoshop.
