public importance, specifically in the areas of First Amendment rights, arts
advocacy and public education.
TCC is offering an unpaid internship to a student currently enrolled in a
secondary or post-secondary educational institution. Interns work at TCC in
order to fulfill academic or other work experience requirements in conjunction
with an academic program. Compensation is offered through academic credit
and a transportation stipend.
An internship at TCC offers opportunities for college and graduate students
interested in nonprofit or advocacy work, public relations, marketing, event
planning, politics and/or the entertainment industry. Intern activities typically
include any of the following:
• Research into social and political issues ranging from First Amendment
rights and arts advocacy to children’s education;
• Watching, critiquing, and providing coverage for Independent Films for
the organization to support;
• Relationship building with foundations and the media;
• Event planning and execution;
• Membership relations; and/or
• Document preparation for the membership, public and/or media i.e.,
press releases, policy updates, formal letters of invitation etc.
The internship is available during the standard Fall 2018 Academic Semester,
from mid-August until mid-December (specific dates are coordinated with
Interns), with a minimum of 21 hours per week required. TCC will assist the
Intern with any academic credit requirements from their educational institution.
