Item Description

Family Membership to Ruth Bancroft Gardens plus 4 passes to lindsey Wildlife Museum

This flora/fauna combo is sure to please any nature enthusiast! Love succulents and cacti? Then you'll love the Ruth Bancroft Gardens in Walnut Creek! There are daily docent-led tours and a large selection of water-wise plants available for purchase. The Garden also offers garden design seminars and hands-on gardening workshops, and hosts a range of social events, including concerts, festivals, and a month-long sculpture exhibit every summer. Ruth Bancroft started this garden in the 1960's upon her retirement and passed away just this past November at the age of 109! After checking out Ruth Bancroft Gardens, head on over to Lindsay Wildlife Experience. Formerly known as Lindsay Wildlife Museum, it is one of the oldest wildlife rehab centers in the United States, and a popular family museum in Walnut Creek. Their mission is to "connect people with wildlife to inspire responsibility and respect for the world we share." The museum houses an interactive discovery room for children, a hands-on pet education section with small domestic animals, and rotating natural history and art exhibits. The on-site wildlife rehabilitation center treats nearly 6,000 injured or orphaned wild animals each year. There is a window into the intake room and operating room where you get to see them in action at scheduled times during the day, and their active bee-hive is a popular attraction--the bees enter from outside and you can watch them through a pane of glass as they set to work.
