Item Description
From the artist: "I've loved and collected old paper for many years and all of my collages and mixed media pieces are made from this collection, as well as other materials such as paint, pencil, ink, and whatever else catches my fancy. This piece, "Lady and Red Flower," includes a lady from the mid-19th century. Lady's Godey's Book and the flower is original 19th century Victorian scrap. I don't use copies, all of the paper in my pieces are authentic, and I use acid-free archival glue.
My paintings and mixed media pieces are an expression of my inner life and what interests me. It is important to me that each piece is intriguing, yet also evokes feelings of peacefulness and balance.
My creative process is a relationship between myself, imagination, and the materials. I do very little planning and allow each piece to emerge."
